‘Rats with Wings. Reimagining Kinship’ is the working title of our joint exploration of the significance of empathy and ambiguity tolerance in democratic negotiation processes and relationship structures aiming a more-than- human, planetary perspective. We understand the concept of kinship as a category that emphasises similarity in favour of solidarity and empathy and simultaneously preserves reverence for the other, endures difference and understands respect instead of sameness as a core democratic aspect.
